Bill Mitchener offers more than 30 years of experience, wisdom, and practicality in commercial real estate development.

The founding principal of Mitchener Properties, Bill Mitchener, has participated in over 60 development projects throughout the Carolinas, Maryland, and Florida during his 33-year career in commercial real estate. He had sole responsibility for providing all equity and securing financing in 50 projects, as well as responsibility for all aspects of the development process, from entitlements to construction to sale of the properties. The total market value of these single-tenant projects is over $250 million. Tenants include Eckerd, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Advance Auto Parts, Food Lion, Arby’s, Chipotle, Aspen Dental, Take Five, Popeyes, and Harris Teeter.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bill began his career as a Certified Public Accountant, becoming the third partner in a Charlotte-based development company that grew to 40+ employees prior to forming Caliber Partners. Now as the managing partner of Mitchener Properties, LLC, Bill will continue in his pursuit of single-tenant properties and retail shopping centers.

A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, he was also an equity investor in several Target anchored community shopping centers and over 750,000 square feet of industrial properties. Current investments include a 200 unit multi-family development in Wilmington, NC. Bill is also an investor in Take Five franchises in NC and Virginia.

Amber Gaffney joined Mitchener Properties in early 2022 to aid in financial analysis and business support. Amber earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University, majoring in both Accounting and Economics. Previously, she had a successful career in Corporate Finance at Bank of America, including roles responsible for forecasting the bank’s $2T balance sheet. Additionally, Amber earned her CPA license early in her career. She brings a wealth of knowledge around financial analytics and is detail oriented. Amber is excited to be part of the Mitchener Properties Team.
